Training on Gender Responsive Budget (GRB) and Participatory Local Level Planning (PLLP) with local Government Representatives.

Jagaran Nepal has accomplishment two day’s Training on Gender Responsive Budget (GRB) and Participatory Local Level Planning ( PLLP) Process, in Kailari Rural Municipality and Gauriganga Municipality of Kailali district and Pachdeval-Binayak Municipality, Achcham under WoRLD Project of DCA. 

The training was organized with aim to ensure the gender responsive budget (Gender friendly)in local government plans and policy and motivate to play effective role of elected representatives during the participatory local level planning and budgeting process.

The program was carried out on 1st and 2nd April 2019 at  Kailari Rural Municipality whereas in Gauriganga Municipality on 3rd and 4th April 2019. Similarly, on 6th and 7th April 2019 at  Panchadewal Binayak Municipality, Achcham. In total, 160 elected representatives of 3 local government  participated in the program including Mayor, Deputy mayor, Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Chief Administrative Officer, Ward Chairs and all ward member ( male member, Dalit women member & women member) were participated. 

During the training, discussions were focused on the cross cutting issues and need as well importance of gender responsive budget and its inter-linkage to the targeted people. Similarly, the discussions were focused on roles and responsibility of different thematic committee member to analysis gender responsive budget and also on performance basis self-analysis of local government as per autonomous body.

The major achievement of the training is it was more interactive and fruitful. Elected representatives committed to ensure the gender responsive budget, plans and policy and also reform different thematic committee member ensuring the participation of  each municipal council member not only legislative members.
