Jagaran Nepal (JN) organized a project interaction program on 8th May 2016 in Anamnagar- Kathmandu in order to formally inform the national level key stakeholders (including NGOs/INGOs, political party leaders, media personal, government officials and other civil societies) about the project goal and activities. The project is funded by Governance Facility (GF) and being implemented in six districts in partnership with district based NGOs.
Around 50 participants from different organization were involved in the program. Program was chaired by Ms. Sharmila Karki, Chairperson, Jagaran Nepal and started with the warm welcome by Ms. Meena Bista, Program Manager, who briefed about the project objectives.
Project presentation was made by Mr. Dipak Prasad Bashyal, National Project Coordinator-SMARCO Project, highlighting the project goal, expected outcome, activities and strategies. After project presentation, in the open floor discussion, some questions from participants were answered and clarified.
In his remarks, Mr. Uttam Upreti, M&E Specialist, Governance Facility informed about partners selection criteria, how the organization is balancing the geographical coverage and sectoral priorities which is more based on the partner's strengths and expertise. He further highlighted that GF is flexible to modify the project activities as per the need but it should come up with knowledge and evidence based. Similarly, Ms. Bhagwati Sangraula, Director, Social Welfare Council, suggested to follow the Social Welfare Council's (SWC) guidelines. In addition, political leaders and other participants appreciated the work carried out by Jagaran Nepal.
