Title of the Project: Strengthening HRDs and Civil Societies for Promotion of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of Discriminated Groups in Nepal

Overall Objective of the Action: Contribute to protection and promotion of human rights of Human Rights Defenders (HRDs) from women and PwDs (Persons with Disabilities) especially from marginalized groups

Specific Objectives:

Location of the Action: Sunsari District (4 VDCs- Bharaul, Chandbela, Dumraha and Madheli) of Eastern Development Region

Duration of the Project: 24 months (Jan 1, 2015- Dec 31, 2016)

Total BudgetThe total cost of the project is NPR 55,90,838 (Euro 50825.80)

Right Holders (RHs)

Primary Right Holders: The action’s primary right holders are 300 HRDs from women, PwDs, Dalit communities.

Secondary Right Holders: 300 victims of HRVs and abuses from vulnerable groups; 300 HHs from economically poorest and discriminated communities;   300   CSO/CBO   members   working   in   HR   issues;   and   200   officials   from   government agencies   are secondary right holders of the action.

Final Beneficiaries: Around 300,000 Community people from 3 Districts and vicinity of targeted 12 VDCs.
